What Can I Expect During My First IV Therapy Session?

Maybe you’ve seen us in your Instagram stories. Or maybe you’re on a sports team and someone mentions IV Therapy. At Oasis IV Therapy it’s always a pleasure to introduce “first timers” to IV Therapy in Tampa, FL.  Take Tara Kranzel for example. first time iv client “This was my first IV experience and it was AMAZING!! Alie made me so comfortable because she explained everything to me as she was doing it. She was super calm, friendly, and informative.” Tara is just one of the hundreds we’ve introduced to the wonders of IV Therapy. In this blog, I want to explain what to expect for your first IV Therapy session and what to prepare for to best enjoy it!

The First Step Is Scheduling an Appointment With Our Team

To do this, please feel free to text or call us at (813)-945-2889 and pick whatever time works best for you. Because we’re a mobile IV Therapy clinic, you can choose what time best works for you as we’ll work on your schedule. Many of our customers love this because we come to them instead of the other way around – saving you precious time in your day.

We Arrive and Begin Setting up Our Tools

You can expect our team of professionals to greet you on your doorstep on the day of our appointment. Angie or Allie will likely be there ready! We’ll then perform a final assessment of your current health status and review any last-minute concerns. We set up a sterile and comfortable area for the IV session within the client’s space. We’ll then set up the IV solution. Our solutions contain a mix of saline (a sterile solution of salt and water), vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and sometimes medications tailored to the specific needs of the patient. The composition of the IV drip depends on the treatment goals, such as boosting energy, improving immune health, aiding recovery from illness, or enhancing hydration.

After That, We Start the Infusion Process

Angie or Allie will carefully insert the IV line into a vein, typically in the arm, using sterile techniques to minimize discomfort and prevent infection. The selected IV drip is administered. The process typically takes 30-45 minutes, during which the nurse monitors the client for any adverse reactions and ensures comfort. We have many IV drip options to choose from, so this does vary depending on what you’d like! During the infusion, we’ll not leave your side and answer any questions you might have, providing education about the benefits of the nutrients being administered and answering any questions.

Post IV Infusion Care Is Very Important to Us

Once the infusion is complete, the IV line is safely removed, and a bandage is applied. We’ll monitor you for a short period to ensure there are no immediate post-treatment issues. This is almost never any issue. After we’re done, you’ll receive aftercare instructions, which typically include staying hydrated and watching for any unusual symptoms. All equipment and waste are safely disposed of or sterilized as required. Feedback means we can improve on our service even more and make even more connections in Tampa and the surrounding areas! If you have any questions please feel free to contact us and ask.
